Son Of Dork are 5 guys who want to take you on a rollercoaster trip through musical madness! With a kick-start from James Bourne - the ex-Busted member who set up the band, wrote a lot of the material for their debut album and carried out the auditions to find these other 4 nutters who have what it takes to take to take their band to the top!

After the Busted split back in January 2005, James knew that he would have to set up another band and catapult his music back into the charts, and his albums on the shelves. Not being one to go into a solo project as the idea of a group of people performing together is much more his cup of tea, he got the ball rolling. Plastering ad's everywhere from the NME magazine to posters, he got some auditions going in London. As James is famed for being one of the members of the Busted trio, the auditions got a fair amount of auditonee's trying to be the next big thing. And in every audition process you are mroe than likely going to get some idiots. As James put it "at the auditions I saw some great players I would have loved for the band, but I could tell they were arseholes". He goes on to say "There was this one guy who was one of the best guitarists i've seen, but he had the biggest attitude problem in the world. Even if he's Jimy Hendrix, if he has an attitude problem he's never going to fit. It's not about individuals, its about the band. If it was about individuals i'd go solo". Couldn't have put it better ourselves!

So, after sifting through some good and some not-so-good people at the auditions, he found his 4 people that he had been searching for, and the result couldn't be better. They are extremely close friends, getting to know eachother very well very quickly due to spending a lot of time together. As steve put it "It's a great envionment. They're just as much my best mates as anyone i've known for years now. I feel like i've known them all for ages coz' we're around eachother 24/7. We all just bounce off each other really well. We just take the piss out of eachother and have a laugh".

And the band name? It isn't the most obvious of names, and more than anything it is definately unique! James explains how they came up with the name "I was in Canada on a stair lift after Busted split up, and I was just thinking of how i'd have to get a new band, but didn't know what to call it. I'd watched a film called "Problem Child" and in this one scene the guy comes on and their all chanting "Son Of Dork! Son Of Dork!", and thought it was perfect, and it sounds good when it's chanted. I watch a lot of loser movies!".

The band couldn't be any better in terms of the members. There is variety between them, which makes the whole band more appealing, and their not carbon-copies of each other or other bands - their all their own individual person and have their own sound, which has that "feel-good factor". That's what makes them so special.
